that's why y'all play quick play classic in the arcade card, nearly instant queue time

I gave upwardly on queueing DPS. Considering the time to rank upwards is too much.

10-15 min queues, let's say xx min games (actually low finish), 30 mins total. Yous win 3/v of your games to rank up. That's 2 and half hours per sr gained. Yous need at least 3 Sr gains to go upward 100sr. 500 Sr to rank upward. So that's 36+ hours in the perfect scenerio to go upwardly one rank.

Uhhh no...

DPS are supposed to be a lot more flexible than tank or healers, its normal to accept more than of them. Yous can only so much reinvent the concept of healing.
Isn't that the problem? You have similar 50% of the heroes (who are the most flexible of the cast) but beingness able to make full a third of a squad comp. Even when you ignore the idea of people simply wanting to play shooty shooty kill characters, there'south nevertheless the fact that naturally more people are going to want to queue into DPS because there's and then many of them. It'southward like simple math. Blizzard kind of just threw this role queue in as a band help for squad comp and fucked up wait times instead.

I think they should add a 4th class. There's so much variety in the DPS grade as you said, to the indicate that I feel they tin almost brand a class of its own of some of the more than gimmicky ones like Sym, Torb or Sombra. Or maybe just not accept part queue. I had more fun without it fifty-fifty if it has its merits.

Role Queue ruined the game for me. I absolutely fucking hate information technology.
While I like being able to look both teams to accept certain roles filled, I don't similar what it'due south done to the game either. I like to play a wide variety of characters only since whorl queue, I've essentially been locked out of one-half the roster. I can play support and tanks - I've never been one to ignore the class especially if they were needed just that ALL I play now. If I actually want to play a decent amount of Overwatch any given nighttime, I have to take the fact that 50% of the roster is locked out for me.

With Overwatch 2's announcement, and the lack of whatever sort of substantial content released since Sigma (which was in July, the last map was in April), people have started losing interest in Overwatch. There's been cypher new to do for 8 months. People are weary.

Couple that with the general DPS-heaviness in part queue, and you take shitty queue times.

  • #55
Isn't that the trouble? You have similar l% of the heroes (who are the virtually flexible of the bandage) only beingness able to fill a 3rd of a team comp. Even when you ignore the idea of people only wanting to play shooty shooty kill characters, there's still the fact that naturally more people are going to want to queue into DPS because at that place'south so many of them. Information technology's like simple math. Blizzard kind of just threw this role queue in as a band aid for team comp and fucked upwards await times instead.

I recall they should add together a 4th class. In that location's so much variety in the DPS class as you said, to the point that I experience they tin can nigh make a class of its own of some of the more than gimmicky ones similar Sym, Torb or Sombra. Or possibly just non accept role queue. I had more fun without it even if it has its merits.

At that place was a fourth class at the kickoff though, simply as you lot said. Just information technology didn't really change anything. What Blizzard should and is doing is just creating new support roles that are more fun in a fashion to concenter people who were only playing DPS before.

Office queue should never go away though. Information technology made the game a billion times better.

Matchmaking times don't make a lot of sense in Siege or CSGO to me either, at to the lowest degree for the corporeality of concurrent users they accept. Earlier they fixed a lot of stuff and information technology got more popular, I'd encounter xx+ minute queue times in Siege all the time. I'm pretty new to CSGO, I for the life of me tin't figure out why it takes me over v minutes to discover a game considering that I have every map checked. And and so it eventually puts me in lobbies with people that have thousands of hours played.

These 5v5-ish ELO-type games simply need a lot of people on them to take decent matchmaking. More than seems intuitive to me at least. Looks like Overwatch has fallen quite a flake on the xbox almost played. Falling backside the second place COD game is never a good sign.

Ive never once waited ten minutes outside of queuing w friends as dps with disparate SRs.

I know it's bad for higher SRs and dps, merely tank and support are pretty much instant. Actually kind of annoying since I like to deathmatch or custom game while I look and e'er get ripped out of it besides early.

Don't even bother to play modes exterior of arcade imo, unless you're a comp player.
Legit would've given up on the game if QP classic wasn't retired to arcade.
  • #59
Since role queue, I've been playing so much more after a very long interruption. In my experience information technology has resulted in mostly higher quality matches and information technology feels more fair. Gone are the days of solo healing or tanking.

Apparently information technology's not perfect and at that place can be frustrations, but that is kinda expected. Queue times especially for dps isn't groovy, but there is still QP classic as some accept mentioned already.

  • #60
I tried playing a few months back and this was an instant plough off. Office queues are a joke which I would sympathise in ranked games but for coincidental? Nope. I should be able to play the game how I like and even though I used to play support roles, if I desire to play DPS, I shouldn't have to wait iii times equally long as a friction match takes.

There was a fourth class at the showtime though, just as you said. But it didn't really change anything. What Blizzard should and is doing is just creating new back up roles that are more fun in a way to attract people who were only playing DPS earlier.

Office queue should never get away though. It made the game a billion times improve.

They tin only add and then many characters so quickly. The game is in its afterwards years anyway. How many back up types exercise you think they're gonna add earlier then? Like I said, the problem isn't and so much that Support types aren't fun to play or that DPS are more than fun to play. It'southward the fact that most of the characters are one class.

Anybody wants to shoot without whatsoever responsibility. Zip incorrect with that, just it certain tells why I would e'er queue into matches with people who are just there to mess around or become solo sniper or something.

I've barely touched it since the office stuff.

Game is pretty much expressionless on console and barely live on PC. They really need to comprise cross-play or something to give the game some life until Overwatch 2 comes out.

Expressionless is considered when there'southward barely any people left playing. Like 100 or so.
Which is far from it on ps4 since you can find games for any mode of the arcade, quick plays and competitive.

They do need to incorporate crossplay which is just all around ameliorate for anybody, but the game is far from dead.

Obviously I was existence hyperbolic merely by dead I mean the game isn't anywhere nearly where it was at its meridian or hell, even a twelvemonth agone. A lot of people I know have dropped the game and won't be coming back to OW2 drops.

I play as Support characters exclusively and I've only had to expect at near 5 minutes for a game. It sucks cause I barely get started in Deathmatch earlier I get pulled in.

If you want to get in games, queue up as Tank and/or Back up

ThreepQuest64

Yeah, I wait FIVE bloody minutes on average, not rarely well over 8, and we're not even picking damage dealer. Nosotros barely play information technology anymore because of that since we don't want to look five minutes only to take a leaver and to abolish the lucifer. I'm not sixteen with hours to spend on gaming each day anymore.

I am pretty sure that many players just quit the game in terminal few months. Except for few skins added for every event, game is pretty much dead. I mean nothing is happening because they are focusing on OW ii development and decided to pretty much ignore OW until OW 2 release, which is a shame.

Game is pretty much dead on console and barely alive on PC. They really need to comprise cantankerous-play or something to give the game some life until Overwatch ii comes out.
Game is non dead on Xbox, I play it daily...

But yep, for dps the await times are atrocious, between x-twenty minutes. Merely that's due to the fact anybody chose dps, if you chose support/tank you find matches very chop-chop.

The game would benefit heavily from crossplay across consoles. I don't wait too long to go into games on PS4 (Quickplay) but I select all iii roles when queue'ing

This is merely a complaint for DPS queue. I play tank and back up (on PC, PS4 AND Switch) and ever have <2 min queue times for each console.

Also, having queue saved the frustration of quick play for me. Having a 5 dps squad and I'g trying to run tank or healer so nosotros could win was terrible. My girlfriend playing with me who I could count on for either tanking or healing is the merely reason I like the game honestly.

the hugger-mugger to having fun in overwatch is don't play competitive.

It would exist squeamish if y'all could do that and non become a bunch of people who are like, "information technology's not competitive, so it doesn't thing, I'grand just gonna meme all day".

Like, even if a ranking isn't attached, it'd be nice if people TRIED at the very least. Like, option who you want, play who you want, but like, play the video game.

This is simply a complaint for DPS queue. I play tank and support (on PC, PS4 AND Switch) and always have <2 min queue times for each panel.

Exactly. Prior to role queue, I still played far more than tank and heals than DPS. I like the tank and support heroes, but feeling obligated to choose them, match after match because no 1 else will, was frustrating. And if yous asked "Hey, tin nosotros get 2d healer," you were more probable to become "no stfu its quick play" than someone willing to swap off DPS.

With role queue, that problem goes away. I'm choosing a role, non feeling forced into one out of necessity. And people who still queue just DPS, they'll ever take tanks and healers on their team.

Yes, DPS queue times can get long, especially at non-peak hours. Simply there's always Quick Play Classic for people who but play DPS and don't desire to deal with role queue.

When I queue tank and/or support, queue times are rarely an issue. I just play a little Deathmatch in the meantime.

Agreed, information technology sometimes feels like you lot are asking a lot for people to non randomly go AFK or not bother actually moving until xxx seconds past the commencement. I don't run into it besides often but more than I would like.

Era likes to hate Overwatch, just in reality it still has tons of players. I can't speak for competitive but in QP and Arcade information technology's never a problem getting matches and typically only takes a couple of minutes. I'thousand down in the depression tiers though which is where near players probably are anyway.

Yeah, and unfortunately it besides highlights the existent problem with Overwatch: the players are mostly terrible.
"They have a Pharah now, we don't need Torb and Mei so could one of you switch to counter?"
"DON'T TELL ME HOW TO PLAY"

Function Queue was implemented considering the players are idiots.
People pick their favorite graphic symbol and will only play that graphic symbol even if it means losing.
And, as stated many times in this thread, people but want to play Criminal offense.

In OW2 they should fix the system by removing character swapping because that is obviously what a majority of the players want.

I don't think information technology'southward dead on Xbox but asshats recall they're hot shit locking DPS to 10+ queue times. I wish I could say I was lying virtually typing out 10 minutes.

Y'all're right, I was ever able to observe lobbies every bit a tank in 2-3 minutes but I hate playing tanks. Support would vary but information technology would average around three-5 minutes. Thing is, and you know this by playing with me, I am a DPS player all the way. I would average sixty-lxx elims in my prime back in the first of OW and then information technology frustrated me to take to play a role i'm not great at only to exist able to play. For all that i'd rather just play another game.

This. I can't tell you how frustrating it's been when the DPS is garbage and it ends up costing us the game. Yes, sure, please proceed playing Widow/Hanzo when you can't hit the broad side of a barn. I merely play Tank and Support (even since earlier office queue) so it'south been middle opening at how bad a lot of DPS players are.

But as frustrating are DPS just Moira and Baptiste players. Ugh...

Yup, and I'one thousand the same style. And it's office of the reason why I kinda ventured abroad from this over the years. The biggest problem is acrade being a complete DPS fest considering nobody gets to play that elsewhere.

The trouble is arcade isn't filled with DPS because people don't get to play that elsewhere, it's filled with them considering that's what the majority of people want to play, nosotros would see exactly the same across the game modes if they changed it dorsum. Before the part queue stuff happened every game would be unbalanced towards DPS picks and that was massively frustrating too. I'm fine with playing Back up/Tank and on PS4 queue times are very minimal for both (a couple of minutes at near) but I'm the same in that I do like to play DPS on occasions too only I more often than not avoid is about of the time given the 10-twenty infinitesimal queue times - it would be nice is that wasn't the case only nearly people clearly experience like they're but having fun if they're DPSing.

The queue times are ridiculous but I'm non sure what they can really do about it other than making huge changes to heroes or as someone else suggested earlier, forcing people into roles they don't want to play (blocking a role for 5 games later on playing 5 games etc).
